COLLEGE STATION, TX – The Floyd County 4-H State Roundup took place in College Station with members of Floyd County being represented throughout the week of events.
Floyd County had 12 senior 4-H members compete in a variety of contests during the week. Those competing in contests throughout the week include Brailey Kidd, Sydni Chesshir, Cristian Mendez, Adrian Jimenez, Cutter Evans, Pea Shuping, Kaileigh Cook, John Taylor Snowden, Mia Snowden, Sierra Snowden, Haygen Lefevre and Brinley Lefevre. The contests include rifle, educational presentations, fashion, archery, ag product identification, livestock judging and healthy lifestyle ambassador training.
The top ten placing in each event are recognized. The highlight of the week was the Floyd County 4-H Lawn Chair Drill Team clinching 1st place in the variety show contest and performing at the evening assembly in front of 2,000 4-H members from across the state. The lawn chair drill team included Sydni Chesshir, Cutter Evans, Adrian Jimnez, Brinely Lefevre, Haygen Lefevre, Cristian Mendez, John Snowden and Sierra Snowden.
In the educational presentation contest Sydni Chesshir placed 8th in her contest. Mia Snowden and Sierra Snowden placing 8th with their educational presentation. Mia Snowden also placed 4th overall in the fashion show buying category. Kaileigh Cook and Mia Snowden also took part in the Healthy Lifestyle Ambassador training and worked at the State 4-H Food Challenge Contest.
