FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds were in action against the Sundown Roughettes on Saturday in a battle for the top of the district.
The Roughettes scored three runs in the top of the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead.
Sundown would add three more runs in the second inning, extending their lead 6-2.
In the bottom of the third inning, Floydada’s offense gave them four runs to tie the game 6-6.
The Lady Winds were trailing 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Madison Pyle hit the game-winning two run homerun to earn the district win 11-10.
Floydada’s offensive power was on display with seven total home runs in the past two games.
Floydada split the series with Sundown and improved to 21-5 overall and 11-1 in district play.
