FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were in a district double-header on Tuesday as they played host to the Ralls Jackrabbits.
In the first game, Ralls would start the scoring in the top of the first inning to go up 1-0.
Floydada would respond in the bottom half of the inning with two runs to take the lead 2-1.
The Whirlwinds would extend their lead in the bottom of the third inning, adding two more runs.
Floydada would close the game out in the top of the seventh inning to get the game one win 10-2.
In game two on Tuesday, the Jackrabbits would once again take an early lead after scoring two in the bottom of the first inning.
The Whirlwinds would add one run in the second inning, and three in the top of the third inning to tie the game 4-4.
Floydada’s offense would score three runs in the top of the sixth to go ahead 7-4.
Ralls had an opportunity to make a comeback in the bottom half of the inning, but the Whirlwinds’ defense secured the game two victory 7-5 over the Jackrabbits.
Floydada moves to 3-13 overall and 2-6 in district play.
