Randall “Randy” Robert Ward, 68, passed away in Lubbock, Texas, on December 29, 2023, surrounded by his family. Randy was born to Robert Lee Ward and Linda Sue Bullock in Floydada, Texas, on October 29, 1955.
Randy was an outgoing, happy, and charismatic man and made friends easily throughout his life. His early years of riding dirt bikes with his family and lifelong friend, Randy Pernell led to Randy’s love of motorcycles and the freedom to ride down the highway to his next great adventure. Randy loved motorcycles and rode alongside friends to Glacier National Park. It became one of his favorite memories as he often spoke of that trip and considered it one of his greatest adventures. His love of the mountains and the outdoors, sitting by the lake, and fishing for hours were some of his best times. Randy loved visiting with family and friends and always had great stories about his adventures, experiences, and travels. Throughout Randy’s career, he traveled across the United States but spoke of Oregon most often and dreamt of living in the mountains of Oregon before his untimely death.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Ward, and his grandparents, Mac and Marguerite Ward, Robert Cullen “Cull” and Willie Merle “Bill” Bullock.
Randy is survived by his wife, Donna of Lockney; his mother, Linda Sue Ward of Floydada; his sister, Rhonda Ward Mayo, and her husband, Mark D Mayo of Lubbock; his three children, Rebecca, Brandon, and Tara; his stepdaughters, Jennifer and Sarah, five grandchildren, three step-grandsons, two great-grandchildren: as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His family and friends will greatly miss Randy, and wonderful memories of him will sustain us and brighten our days as we learn to accept our incredible loss.
Randy donated his body to medical research.
