LOCKNEY, TX – Though it has taken a few months, Old Fashioned Grocery is now accepting SNAP in Floyd County’s only locally-owned, locally-operated grocery store.

SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is a federal program that provides nutrition benefits to low-income individuals and families that are used at stores to purchase food.

In addition, Old Fashioned Grocery accepts cash, debit, credit, Venmo and CashApp for payments.

Since opening earlier this year, the store has provided meat from five regional providers – including two from Floyd County (Kidds and Triple S).

Produce is sourced in season from local growers and off-season through a Lubbock-based group that relies on products from other parts of the state.

In addition to accepting SNAP, Old Fashioned Grocery has expanded its hours to Sunday. Current store hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am until 8:00 pm, and Sundays, 12:00 pm til 5:00 pm.
