ACUFF, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds traveled on Tuesday to battle the Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles in a non-district game.
Floydada would jump out in the first quarter to have a 17-10 lead.
Both teams battled throughout the second quarter, however the Whirlwinds were able to maintain their lead and went into halftime up 34-26.
The Eagles fought back in the third quarter and cut the Whirlwind lead to five, going into the fourth quarter with the score at 48-43.
The game was decided in a back-and-forth fourth quarter as Floydada emerged with a 67-66 victory over the Eagles.
Junior Braun Hobbs led the Whirlwinds in both scoring and rebounds and recorded a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Also contributing to the offense for Floydada was junior Sergio Valadez who had 13 points.
Senior Aiden Trevino secured 11 points in the win on Tuesday.
The Whirlwinds have won three games in a row and move to 4-1 overall.
