LEVELLAND, TX – Seven Floydada Collegiate High School students are advancing to a state educators competition following their success over the weekend at the area event.
The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced “taffy”) is a co-curricular statewide non-profit student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession.
Locally, the club is under the supervision of Jayme Osuna and will be sending students in six events to the State event in Round Rock, February 28 – March 1, 2024.
TAFE is a part of the national organization Educators Rising, and each year, a delegation of TAFE’s top student leaders attend the National Conference to represent the Lone Star state.
Students who will be advancing include:
– Ava Gonzales in Interactive Bulletin Board
– Victoria Cervera in PK Children’s Literature Spanish
– Tavianne Bullock in two events Impromptu Speaking and Ethical Dilemma
– Manny Delafuente in Ethical Dilemma
– Marissa Lopez in Ethical Dilemma
– Renae Delgado in Exploring Non-Core
– Paola Sotelo-Lopez in Children’s Literature Spanish
Other competitors over the weekend include Callie Brittain, Brittany Falcon, Bailey McHam, and Payton Shuping.
