FLOYDADA, TX – Don Hardy Fuel Efficient Engines has agreed to purchase two parcels of land in the downtown area.

According to Ryan Crowe, Executive Director for the Floydada Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the local businesses will be able to expand their operations.

One plot is on the corner of Missouri and Main Street and was purchased earlier this year by the EDC and cleaned up. The other on the corner of 5th Street and Missouri, belonged to the EDC for years through a separate Economic Development Foundation – which also owned the Floydada Business Park.

As for the Business Park, Crowe explains that recent changes in the law allow Type B EDCs to own land, which opened the door for the transfer from the Foundation to the EDC, allowing the land to be sold off to local businesses.

The Business Park, located east of Floydada and south of U.S. 70 has been sold to six entities including the City of Floydada, Corbin Kellison, Logan Everett, Nick Joiner, Pumpkin Pyle, and Tim Lipham.
