Moraima was born July 11, 1975, in Floydada to Abel, Sr. and Maria Vasquez.  She graduated from Floydada High School in 1994.  She then attended South Plains College where she studied Nursing.  In 2002, she received her Nursing License.  She was blessed with two children, Lourie and Evan; later, she was blessed with two grandchildren, Khloe and Aaron with yet another on the way.  She was truly cherished by so many and made such an impact on many lives.  Her jokes made an impression on many people, jokes like “Don’t call me, I’ll call you” or, “Party at my house, but I’ve already made y’all’s to-go plate, so you don’t have to stay.”  Moraima served as an LVN and ADON for 16 years at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview.  She loved her job, her coworkers, and every resident she came across.  Her smile lit up any room she stepped in.

She was preceded in death by her father, Abel Vasquez; grandparents, Roberto C. and Elvira L Rodriquez and Luis and Juanita Vasquez; two aunts, Anna Rivera and Irene Rodriquez; a great-aunt, Beatris Banda; a nephew, Elijah Lopez; two cousins, Arturo Rivera, Jr. and Barbara Olmos; and her beloved puppy, Maximus.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lourie Garcia, and husband Mark of Lockney; her son, Evan Ybarra, and girlfriend Kimberly Rios of Lockney;  two grandchildren, Khloe and Aaron Ybarra; her longtime companion, Joe Guerrero of Floydada; her mother, Maria Vasquez of Floydada; two sisters, Brenda Maldonado and spouse David Ramos, Jr. of Floydada and Abelina Vasquez and spouse Frank Ascencio of Lockney; her brother, Abel Xavier Vasquez and spouse Sonya Guzman of Plainview; her uncles, Juan Rodriquez and spouse Velma, and Robert Rodriquez, Jr., both of Floydada; Lucio Vasquez of Plainview, and Ricky Vasquez and spouse Iida of Lubbock; her aunt, Virginia Vasquez of San Antonio, Texas; five nephews, two nieces and one great-niece; and her beloved furry children, Zero, Titus and Mike.
