SMYER, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds traveled to Smyer on Friday night to battle the Bobcats in non-district action.
Floydada’s Ty Henderson would get the Whirlwinds on the board in the first quarter behind a 22-yard run to take a 7-0 lead.
In the second quarter, senior Aiden Trevino would secure an interception and run it back to extend the Whirlwind lead 13-0.
Henderson would find the end zone once again in the second quarter, as well as securing the two-point conversion to make it a 21-0 Floydada lead.
Smyer would get on the scoreboard in the second quarter behind a 10-yard touchdown run, making it 21-6.
In the third quarter, Ty Henderson would connect with Trevino on a deep ball to go up 28-6.
Floydada would continue to apply pressure in the second half and secure the victory over the Bobcats, 42-20.
The Whirlwinds move to 3-0 on the season and will look to keep the streak alive this week against New Home in Floydada.
