FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were in action on Friday night in their season opener against the Ralls Jackrabbits.
The Whirlwinds were able to capitalize off of their special teams play, scoring a touchdown on both a punt return and a kickoff return.
Floydada’s defense limited the Jackrabbits offense to just 14 points, as the Whirlwinds would secure their first victory of the season, 34-14.
The Whirlwinds move to 1-0 on the season and will travel this Friday to face the Lockney Longhorns (1-0) in the Floyd County Championship.
