FLOYDADA, TX – Three local businesses are receiving assistance in expanding and improving their operations.
Brian & Dilia’s Classics have purchased a neighboring garage and are connecting the two buildings with 20 percent of the project cost funded by the Floydada Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
Quality Body Shop will be receiving a 20 percent incentive investment as well for the cost of new aluminum tools and HVAC replacement.
A new business, The Liquor Shack, will also receive a 20 percent funding incentive from the EDC for building and equipment expansion.
Organized as a Type B EDC in Texas, sales tax may be used for any project aimed at quality-of-life improvements. Type B corporations may pay for land, buildings, equipment, facilities, targeted infrastructure and improvements for professional and amateur sports and athletic facilities, tourism and entertainment facilities, convention facilities and public parks; related store, restaurants, concession, parking, and transportation facilities; related street, water and sewer facilities; and affordable housing.
In addition, Type B EDCs created by cities with a population of 20,000 or less may use sales tax proceeds to fund projects that promote new or expanded business development.
