Floydada School Board Hires Ten for This Year

FLOYDADA, TX – With less than a week to go before the start of the new school year, Floydada Collegiate ISD is making final preparations as students prepare to return.

Specifically, the FCISD School Board on Tuesday hired five for the A.B. Duncan Elementary campus. Avery Aleman and Ashley Trevino will be new Pre-K teachers, and Dixie Everett will return to the campus as a teacher (after rescinding a resignation). Leticia Luna will serve students in the cafeteria, while Mauro Martinez will add custodial duties.

At the middle and high school campus, Karson Hembree was hired as the new boys (head) basketball coach, Brittany Ivette Perez is the new Spanish teacher, Jamye Ozuna will serve as an education and training teacher, and John Miller is the new assistant band director. Alamar Ovalle was hired as a bus driver.

In addition to the new hires, Trustees also accepted the resignations of Danny Espinoza, Reese Munoz, Carlos Munoz, Patti Sanchez, and Mita Chavarria.

The first day of classes for FCISD schools is Wednesday, August 16th.
