LOCKNEY, TX – Despite a slower month for most hospital and clinic areas, May was profitable for W.J. Mangold Memorial (WJM) Hospital.

Vince DiFranco, CEO of WJM, recently told members of the Lockney Hospital District that volume at the clinic for providers totaled 893 visits; there were eight acute admissions for 25 patient days and ten observation patients.

In addition, there were 195 Emergency Room visits, just over 3,400 lab tests performed, and there were six procedures during the month.

Total gross revenue (charges) was $1,568,717, and overall expenses totaled $1,107,745. After factoring in other operating and non-operating revenue and adjustments, the net gain for May 2023 was $83,120.

A continuing bright spot for the operation, according to DiFranco, is physical therapy. We had “357 overall visits in May, which continued their strong patient utilization since the new Physical Therapist started.”
