FLOYDADA, TX – Local businesses have received $85,000 over the past ten months to improve and grow the economy.

The Floydada Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was established at the turn of the century to provide incentives for new businesses and funding to assist existing firms in maintaining and/or growing the local economy.

Vito’s Grill and The Wild Hare Salon are working to make improvements and will receive financial assistance – up to 20 percent of their total project costs – through incentives approved by the EDC on Thursday.

“Azteca’s new industrial refrigerator that was delivered on Tuesday, the painting of the museum, which is in its final stages, and the opening of La Tiendita,” explains Ryan Crowe, Floydada EDC Executive Director, are just an example of some recent investments back into the community.

The incentives approved over FY2023 represent the largest single-year investment made by the EDC Board of Directors since its inception.
