FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds have hired their new basketball coach for the 2023–2024 season.
Plainview native Karson Hembree was named the head coach for the Whirlwinds on Monday.
Hembree graduated from Plainview in 2014 and was an assistant coach for the Bulldogs last year.
Last season, the Whirlwinds went 36-6 on the year and were 14-1 in district play to claim the district title.
Floydada was able to make a deep run in the playoffs last season, making it to the Regional Finals, and will look forward to the future under Coach Hembree.
