FLOYDADA, TX – With more than six inches of rainfall over the last few weeks, the mosquito population has exploded across the region.
On Friday, the city of Floydada will initiate aerial spraying to get the situation under control.
The city has used pickup foggers through streets for over a week, but the aerial approach provides full coverage.
The air support is contracted and provided by Probasco Flying Service.
Residents must empty containers with standing water, keep yards and other properties mowed, and eliminate any other areas where mosquitoes may breed and lay eggs to maximize the city’s efforts.
