NEW DEAL, TX – The Lockney Longhorns battled the New Deal Lions on Tuesday in a district game.
In the top of the first inning, the Longhorns were able to strike first and take the lead 1-0, however, the Lions would strike back in the bottom half with eight runs to take an 8-1 lead.
New Deal would add six more runs in the second inning to extend their lead to 14-1.
In the top of the third inning, the Longhorns looked to rally back as they scored four runs to cut the Lion lead to 14-5.
The Lions would seal the game in the bottom of the fourth as they added six more runs to claim the victory, 20-5.
Due to the weather on Tuesday, the second game will be played on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
