FLOYDADA, TX – For 19 years, she taught tennis and took scores of players to the Regional and State meets, but now, it’s her turn to play.
Robin Nixon grew up in Hart and graduated from Angelo State in 1987. Her first teaching job was in Midland (one year), then she taught in Lockney for four years before donning the Kelly Green of Floydada Collegiate ISD (FCISD).
After 31 years with the district, she’ll retire as Assistant Principal at A.B. Duncan Elementary.
Nixon received her Master of Education from Wayland Baptist in 2010 after teaching science in junior high and high school. She also coached basketball and cross country for the Whirlwinds and is trading school life for time with her family and the family business.
Of course, she’s looking forward to traveling and having the time to play more tennis. Congratulations, Coach Nixon!
