There are few other places in the world that know drought better than West Texas.
Over the past 25 years, we’ve experienced drought at least four times, with two – including this one – considered major droughts.
In 2011, farmers with irrigated land attempted to water their crops through the drought, to no avail: drought takes no prisoners.
As God’s chosen people prepared to enter the land of milk and honey, Joshua – at the direction of God – instructed the priests to stand on the river bank (of the Jordan).
“When the priests got to the Jordan and their feet touched the water at the edge, the flow of water stopped… the river went dry… and the people crossed,” explains Joshua 2:14-16.
What if the drought we experience today is God’s answer to our prayers for something better tomorrow?
You can always stand on the shoreline, but only those who walk across the dry riverbed experience the joy He has promised.
