FLOYDADA, TX – The #8 Floydada Lady Winds hosted the #25 Ralls Lady Rabbits in a district game on Friday.
The Lady Winds were able to jump out to a 4-1 lead after the first inning.
Floydada’s Carisa Fernandez hit an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the second to extend the Lady Wind lead to 5-2.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Winds would add two more runs to go up 7-2.
The Lady Rabbits would fight back in the top of the fifth and seventh innings, but the Lady Winds were able to defend the comeback and secure the victory over Ralls 8-6.
The Lady Winds look to secure the district championship on Saturday with a win over Ralls.
