Andy Rendon (Lockney)
Andy Rendon, 44, of Lockney, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas. A Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Lockney, with Pastor Arturo Faz officiating.
Andy was born on September 9, 1978, in Athens, Texas, to Manuel Zapata Rendon and Elvia (Perez) Rendon. Andy worked in several places, including Walmart, Lewis Construction, and as a Covenant Hospital patient Transporter. He served in different roles at Power Of Praise Church throughout the last 26 years, including Youth Pastor and, most recently, Associate Pastor. He actively served as a drummer on the worship team and as a member of the Christian band “Todo Es Posible.” Most of all, his passion was to travel for ministry, and he would Evangelize and spread the gospel anywhere he went. If you ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with him, you would definitely leave with a smile on your face. He made sure to make everyone feel loved and positively impacted each person he met.
His parents, Manuel Zapata Rendon and Elvia Perez Rendon, and one sister preceded him in death.
Andy is survived by two brothers, Manuel Rendon Jr. and Max Rendon and wife Frances; five sisters, Carol Vasquez and husband Ricardo, Yolanda Luna and husband Louis, Rosanne Bernal, Peggy Arellano, and husband Able, Hope Rendon; 12 nieces and ten nephews and 28 great-nieces and nephews.
