SMYER, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (16-11, 7-5) battled the Smyer Lady Cats (6-24, 0-12) in district action on Thursday.
The first quarter was back and forth between the two teams, and the game was tied 9-9.
The second quarter was the turning point for the Lady Winds, as they were able to generate 19 points of offense and take the lead 28-16 at the half.
Floydada was able to continue their pressure in the third quarter and extend their lead to 42-22.
The Lady Winds closed the game out in the fourth quarter and secured the victory over Smyer, 53-34.
Floydada was led in scoring by sophomore Soriah Wickware, who had 23 points and 8 rebounds.
