FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (14-11, 5-5) and Lockney Lady Horns (19-9, 6-4) battled in a district game on Friday.
In the first quarter, both teams struggled to get things rolling offensively, but it was the Lady Winds who held the lead, 11-9.
Both teams were back and forth in the second quarter, and Floydada would maintain their two point lead going into halftime with the score at 24-22.
The Lady Winds would produce a game-high 15-point third quarter that would increase their lead to five and go ahead 39-34.
The Lady Horns looked to make a fourth-quarter comeback but were unable to generate enough offense and would fall to the Lady Winds, 47-42.
Floydada’s junior guard Zay Santos would lead the Lady Winds in scoring with 21 points.
