AUSTIN, TX – Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he would send cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose districts $1.07 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 7.6 percent more than in January 2022 and for Floyd County, that equals $40,916.53 (up 3.6 percent) between Lockney and Floydada.
These allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report monthly tax.
Floydada receives 4 percent more year-over-year ($28,790.46), while Lockney sees a 2 percent increase ($12,126.07).
Compared to other area communities, the percentage gains are only bested by Petersburg (17.7 percent increase to $5,344.56) and Crosbyton (16.6 percent increase to $11,975.20). Plainview managed a 1.3 percent increase year-over-year ($404,122.87), while Lorenzo and Ralls experienced a 20 percent reduction for each community.
