FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds hosted the Hale Center Lady Owls for their first district game of the season.
The first quarter was back and forth, but Floydada would hold a one-point lead going into the second quarter, 11-10.
In the second, the Lady Winds defense was able to hold the Lady Owls to only three points, and they would extend their lead going into halftime, 19-13.
The third quarter would be the turning point in the game as the Lady Owls scored 29 points and held the Lady Winds to only one point, and Hale Center would have the lead 42-20 going into the final quarter.
Hale Center would finish off the game in the fourth quarter and win the district opener by a score of 51-35.
Floydada was led by junior Sierra Snowden, who had a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Sophomore Soriah Wickware also contributed to the Lady Winds’ offense with 7 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Winds will look ahead to their next district matchup as they travel to Sudan on Friday.
