LEVELLAND, TX – Ten Floydada Collegiate High School students are advancing to a state educators competition following their success over the weekend at the area event.
The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced “taffy”) is a co-curricular statewide non-profit student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession.
Locally, the club is under the supervision of Mrs. Pamela Ricketts and will be sending students in six events to the event in Round Rock, TX, next March.
TAFE is a part of the national organization Educators Rising, and each year a delegation of TAFE’s top student leaders attend the National Conference to represent the lone star state.
Last year, Ava Gonzales represented FCISD at the event in Washington, DC.
Students that will be advancing include:
– Tavianne Bullock and Peyton Shuping in “Ethical Dilemma”
– Iziah Alvarado and Dani Zavala in “Project Visualiz-service”
– Ava Gonzales and Allyson Romero in “Inside our Schools”
– Braun Hobbs, Manny Delafuente, and Eliazar Martinez in “Professional Development”
– Callie Brittain in “Interactive Bulletin Board”
