LOCKNEY – The Lockney Longhorns tried to keep themselves in their game against Sudan on Friday night, but the Hornets were just too strong, stinging the Longhorns with a 48-21 loss in front of their fans at Mitchell-Zimmerman Stadium.
The Longhorns, 1-1 in district 3-2A, were led by three scoring drives by Fullback Xavier Jimenez, who scored each time on goal line runs. Where the ‘Horns faltered was on turnovers, giving up a fumble and two interceptions in the loss.
Next up, the Longhorns will travel south to Ralls to take on the Jackrabbits Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
