FLOYDADA – More than two inches of rain fell on Floydada Wednesday, with more expected through late evening.
As of 4:30 p.m. the West Texas Mesonet at Texas Tech reports 2.3 inches of rain has fallen, with much of it coming since 12:00 p.m.
Multiple roads in the city had standing water across lanes, with gutters filling up. City Manager Darrell Gooch said the worst of the flooding was along East California near downtown, but no reports of damage to homes or buildings.
The only reported problem for Floydada Police was a car that stalled along East California due to the water.
