Steve was born October 2, 1954, to James Louis and Ferne Stovall Anderson in Spur, Texas. Steve attended Floydada schools and proudly graduated in the FHS class of 1973. Steve always said that he had the best class Floydada ever had and remains close to his classmates. This class holds the record for advancing in football State playoffs, making quarter-final champions. He attended West Texas State University for a short period when he realized he only wanted to marry his high school sweetheart. Steve and Donna married on April 20, 1974, and from this union, they were blessed with two sons; Brady was born in 1977, and Todd was born in 1982. Steve’s lineman career started in 1974 at South Plains Electric Cooperative. He then had the opportunity to move back to Floydada and work at Lighthouse Electric Cooperative, where he retired after 35 years. Steve was known for his wit, joke telling, and for making people laugh. He loved cookouts with his family and being the selector of all music played. Steve never met a stranger and was known for his questions and conversations. Steve enjoyed coaching his son’s little league teams and working with them on their show animals.

Other than his sons, the light of his life was his five granddaughters, referred to as the” fab five.”

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ferne Anderson.

He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; Son Brady and wife Donna of Ransom Canyon; son Todd and wife Ashley of Whitney; granddaughters Maci, Jaylee, Laynee, Taytum, and Bryton; brother Mike and wife Barbara Anderson of Floydada; sister Nancy and husband Larry Kirk of Levelland; sister Lisa and husband Tracy Rodgers of Levelland; nieces and nephews who he truly adored; and many cousins and friends.
