Benito "B.C." Hernandez (Plainview)

Benito “B.C.” Hernandez, The Greatest Dallas Cowboys Fan of All Time, 87, of Plainview, passed away on June 30, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Trinity Life Church with Pastor Steve Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

B.C. was born on July 19, 1934, to Euginio and Antonia (Cortez) Hernandez in Bryan, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Batesville, Texas, and later ended up in Floydada, Texas. During his younger years, he worked in the field, traveling all over the US. He met the love of his life, Estella Hernandez, and they were married on November 5, 1959, in Floydada, Texas. After marrying, they moved to Plainview, Texas, and had three children. Throughout their marriage, B.C. never left his wife’s side. During the good, the bad, and troubled health. He was always there, holding her hand until she passed on November 11, 2010.

B.C. had a wonderful sense of humor and was always full of life. He enjoyed being outdoors and sitting on his patio, watching everyone go by. He was a devoted fan of The Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching them play. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandbabies.

B.C. will be remembered as a loving father, “Popo,” brother, uncle, and dear friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Ben Hernandez of Plainview and Donna Reeves and husband, Richard, of Plainview, grandchildren; Theron Hernandez, RJ Reeves, Gabriel Hernandez, and Ona Hernandez, and a sister; Maria Rios of Batesville, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Euginio and Antonia (Cortez) Hernandez, his wife; Estella Hernandez, sons; Bruce Hernandez and Johnny Hernandez, a daughter; Glenda Hernandez, brother; Manuel Hernandez, and sisters; Paulita Lopez, Anita Aviles, and Felicita Garibay.
