Floydada Futures Maddie Pyle and Bailey McHam win MVP medals in Ruidoso.
RUIDOSO, N.M. – The Floydada Futures 12-under softball team went to New Mexico to play some good
competition in a beautiful mountain setting at Eagle Creek Sports Complex over the weekend and came away with some hopefully valuable experience.
Floydada started out going 0-2 in pool play, then settled in during bracket action by finishing 2-2 before being eliminated from the Queen of the Mountain Tournament.
During pool play, tournament officials selected MVP’s from each team. Floydada’s recipients were
outfielder Bailey McHam with two hits in Game 1, and pitcher Maddie Pyle for hurling seven strikeouts in Game 2.
Floydada had other good moments of Brooklyn Pyle hitting a grand slam home run against a team
from Albuquerque. The Futures had other running producing hits from Kara Cavazos, Bella Perez,
Jenna Martinez and Mattee Rehkoph. Other team members include Zay Hawkins, Abigail Reyes and
Emily Martinez. The Futures are coached by Ray and Erica Perez.
