LEVELLAND – The Floydada Lady Winds went 1-1 on Tuesday in the first night of summer league
softball action. Floydada outscored Sudan 13-11 in game one, then got shutout by Levelland 9-0 in the nightcap.
The Lady Winds used two pitchers per outing. Kaley Garza and Analise Perez shared pitching time
in the win over Sudan, while Perez and Carissa Fernandez were both in the circle against Levelland.
There are 13 teams competing in the summer league.
Floydada is scheduled to play 10 games through June 21 against Sudan, Levelland, Hale Center, Lubbock Cooper (2), Lubbock High (2), Estacado, and Muleshoe. Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
The Lady Winds will compete in the Ralls Tournament starting this Friday, then resume summer league action on June 9 when hosting Hale Center and Lubbock-Cooper at Lady Winds Field.
