CHILDRESS – Lockney’s (6-3) bats came uncorked on Saturday at the Childress Tourney by shutting out the Shamrock Irish 18-0, followed by a 24-2 romp over the Childress Bobcats.
The Longhorns offense blasted 30-hits in the two games while the pitching held their opponents in check with only two hits. Josh Jimenez threw a one-hit shut out of Shamrock, while Dyllan Thiebaud hurled a one-hitter against Childress.
The top hitters in the pair of wins were Austin Rodriguez, who went 6 for 7 including two doubles and a triple; Nathan Ceniceros was 4-6 and scored 7-runs; Josh Jimenez was 3-7 including a double and scored 6-runs; Dyllan Thiebaud went 4-7; while Pablo Morales was 4-9 with a triple and double 7-RBI.
Lockney will host the Petersburg Buffaloes in a double-header on Tuesday.
