State Representative Dustin Burrows met with Floydada’s Rotary and Lions clubs during their weekly meeting at First United Methodist Church. Burrows spoke about his work in the house and his accomplishments during his previous four sessions in Austin. He highlighted his work with Governor Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and his commitment to representing the interests of the people of West Texas to the entire state.
Burrows won the Republican primary last week, taking just under 80 percent of the vote over challenger Austin Jordan in Floyd County, with 82 percent district-wide. There were no candidates on the Democratic ballot.
Floyd County is currently represented by Rep. David Spiller of Jacksboro. As the presumptive winner of November’s general election, Burrows will begin to represent Floyd County in the Texas state house when the 88th Legislature begins on January 10, 2023.
