SEMINOLE – The Floydada Lady Winds got mixed results in the first day of the Seminole Tournament by splitting a pair of games on Thursday, falling to the Levelland Lobettes 14-3 and then beat the Dalhart Golden Wolves 12-5. Floydada was without three starters in shortstop Clari Delafuente, second baseman Kailee Sanchez and pitcher Erin Trevino who were competing with the Business Professionals of America state competition in Fort Worth.
In game one 4A Levelland scored in every inning and held a 14-0 lead before Floydada pushed across three runs in their final at-bat. Floydada had 10-hits in the game including a two RBI triple by Marissa Obregon and doubles from Tatum Glasscock, Celese Wickware, and Carissa Fernandez. The Lady Winds struggled to get timely hits to produce runs in the first three innings.
In game two, the Lady Winds hits were falling in a timely manner by scoring two runs in the first, four runs in the second and five runs in the third inning. Floydada had four hits for extra bases including a triple and a double by Analise Perez that produced five RBI, plus doubles by Marissa Obregon and Celese Wickware. The Lady Winds never trailed in the win over Dalhart.
