LOCKNEY – Senior Austin Rodriguez established a reputation of being “Mr. Clutch” in basketball with his fourth quarter free-throw shooting. You can now add Rodriguez of being “Mr. Clutch” in baseball after Monday night’s walk-off RBI single to centerfield in the bottom of 7th inning that brought Pablo Morales home and a 4-3 win over the Clarendon Bronchos. It was the first win of the season for Lockney (1-2).

Ironically, Morales scored the winning run and became the winning pitcher. Morales threw a complete game by allowing three runs on four hits, four walks and recorded a solid eight strikeouts. It
Morales first win of the season on the mound. He suffered a disappointing loss to Amarillo San Jacinto by a 2-1 score in the season opener despite hurling a no-hitter.

Morales added offense for Lockney by hitting a RBI triple and a slapped a single. Nathan Cineceros also had a good night at the plate hitting a solo homerun and a single. Dyllan Thiebaud also had a multi-hit game with a double and a single.

Lockney out hit Clarendon 9-4 for the game. The Broncos had one extra base with Caudle hitting a double.
