UPDATE 2/15: A Go Fund Me account has been set up for Catarino Ramirez and Magdalena Hernandez, who lived at the home. They were inside the home but not injured during Sunday’s fire.

The fire was determined to have started in the living room area before spreading through the house.
Crews from Roaring Springs and Matador were called in to assist with the fire.
FLOYDADA – A fire engulfed a home in the 300 block of West Kentucky in Floydada, sending smoke and flames towering into the clear afternoon sky.
The fire started just after 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Members of the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department, Floydada Police and Floyd County deputies all responded to the scene.
Wind speeds in the area of only 10 miles per hour and the quick work of the fire department kept the fire from spreading to nearby homes and other buildings.
Traffic in town is blocked along Kentucky between 3rd and 4th. Drivers are asked to avoid the area while crews continue to put out hot spots and clean up the scene.
