Early voting begins Monday

FLOYD COUNTY – Early voting for the March 2022 Republican and Democratic primaries begins Monday morning in Floyd County, with two polling places set to open at 8:00 a.m.

County voters can head to either First United Methodist Church of Lockney or the Floyd County Courthouse Annex in Floydada between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday between the 15th and February 25.

Voters also have until February 18 to apply for a mail-in ballot.

Republican in the county have a number of contested statewide races as well as the county treasurer’s race between Elva Martinez and Lori Morales to vote in. Residents in county precincts 2 and 3 will also be voting for either Jonathan Sustaita or Darrell Rasco to replace Ed Marks as Justice of the Peace.

In addition to those races, Republicans also have 10 propositions they will vote yes or no to that will help shape the party’s priorities during the upcoming legislative session.

There are no local races on the Democratic side, with six contested statewide races.
