Lady Winds softball try out new field

FLOYDADA – On a beautiful Monday afternoon, the Lady Winds get the opportunity to work out on their new softball field.

The turf field is completed and the fence is almost ready. As of Monday, there are no bleachers or pressbox installed.

The Lady Winds will open the regular season next Monday, February 14 by hosting Lubbock’s Trinity Christian Lady Lions, a Class 4A TAPPS team. The game will likely be at Annie Taylor Park.

The Lady Winds won their second scrimmage over Muleshoe 7-1 on Saturday. They have three more scrimmages ahead this week before the regular season begins, Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. against Trinity Christian in Floydada, Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. against 5A Plainview at Lady Bulldog Park and on Saturday at noon against 5A Amarillo Palo Duro back in Floydada.
